Tenspeed Hero Setting Foot in Europe

Tenspeed Hero Setting Foot in Europe

Last weekend the good folks from Tenspeed Hero visited Amsterdam (shout out to Meesterknecht!) where they set up a Pop up store. Xandra and I visited on saturday and we had a blast!

We were welcomed by Aleia and Jess who we chatted with for a bit. Next to being all around lovely ladies, they helped out a lot with some real life fitting advice.

Xan was trying out the Navy Blue Bib Shorts from the new Resort collection and the fit wasn't quite right, so with advisement she sized up which did the trick. That might sound obvious but when you're used to wearing a certain size it might feel weird to size up. So it was great that the ladies were there and were able to give some fitting advice directly from their own experience, that really meant a lot.

Look out for a review on the bib shorts soon by the way, but the early verdict is that they are great!

Quilt

I tried on the Quilt Jersey, also from Resort, which looked and felt great. Unfortunately I had to have a medium which they were already out of (hey, they transported everything in their own suitcases!) but now that I know first hand what size I need, it's easy to order from their website. I've done tons of measurements already but it can still be tricky getting the correct size, especially with things like 'club' and 'race' fit, and differences between EU and US sizing, so being able to test and see it in real life was great. I do want to explicitly mention that TSH has an amazing real world fit guide which should help with this, I am just sometimes hesitant ordering as it still has to come from the US, which takes time and you might end up paying extra costs twice...

Expansion

They mentioned that they are looking into expanding into Europe, which would be great for everyone here if you ask me. I couldn't tell you where their main customer base is from, but I would assume that they are mostly US based, simply for the fact that shipping within the US is cheaper and you're probably looking at around $20 shipping for international packages. So expanding seems like a good step to me, although my wallet would probably not agree.

The exact laws are a bit vague, but I think that if you are able to sell from within the EU, it would also mean less or no import duties and taxes for customers. If you then take into account that all TSH's products are made in Italy, it can be pretty beneficial to set up a base here.

To close it off, here is us getting snapped (or caught) with our muddy shoes, but of course with TSH socks!
